  • Student Spotlight: Gabriela Ortiz

Gaby hits all aspects of being deserving of this designation. She’s a great student with an inquisitive mind, she is a leader in the school, as evidenced by being elected student body president, and she is a friendly and helpful person who is a joy to be around for both teachers and students. Gaby is the perfect example of the type of student who will not only excel at Early College Academy, but also be a future leader in our community who makes the entire district proud. ~ Amanda Miller, Student Life Coordinator

Welcome to Early College Academy

Dear Early College Academy families and students,

I am honored to serve as the principal of Early College Academy in Greeley. I am very excited about the many great things that will be accomplished with students in this incredible partnership with District 6 and Aims Community College.

As I begin my 22nd year in public education, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. I am passionate about providing the most appropriate and challenging learning experiences for students and staff. We will accomplish this by establishing high expectations for all students and providing systems of support to assure they are met.

I am fortunate to have had great professional education experiences as a classroom teacher, coach, counselor and assistant principal at both the middle and high school levels in Alberta, Canada and Longmont, Colorado. For the past 11 years I have served as assistant principal at Niwot High School. I find so much value in establishing and growing a supportive, focused, engaging learning environment for students so that they achieve their very best.

We are so fortunate to have this productive partnership with District 6 and Aims Community College that will integrate high school and college experiences, both academically and socially. Early College Academy will blend high school and college curricula into a single academic program. This blended academic program will enable students to earn a high school diploma and an Aims CC Associate of Arts degree with guaranteed transfer credits to any 4-year college/university in Colorado.

Early College Academy will have excellent instructors with strong teaching skills and a depth of knowledge that will serve our students well. I look forward to a very successful school year working with you to prepare our students for a bright future

Thank you for choosing Early College Academy, and I look forward to meeting you soon.
