ProStart

Are you interested in . . . owning your own business; hotel & restaurant management; becoming a chef or food writer; international business; resort & event marketing?

A hospitality education program called ProStart, (a food service/hospitality management program,) is offered to students in Weld County School District 6.  ProStart is a nationally certified program that introduces you to a wide variety of careers in the hospitality industry.  Developed by the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association, this unique program gives students the work experience through paid internships, and the classroom learning they need to succeed in hospitality related or business oriented careers.

The ProStart curriculum is based on a study of food preparation, lodging, customer service, and business management coupled with 1+ years, (400 hours) of paid mentored industry internships in a broad spectrum of operations.  Students who earn a national certificate will receive college credit and have access to more than $1 million in scholarships.  Students who complete ProStart I & II will earn 6 concurrent enrollment credits from Metro State University.

Recruiting for this program will begin with the scheduling of classes for next year.  Please note that there are a limited number of seats open for this opportunity and will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
